One of the best moments in history
The balls Tony Stewart had to never answer the black flag in an attempt to push Bobby Labonte to the lead
I used to go to Daytona every year until 2006. Its nothing like this now.
How many drivers did Dale Sr. Shove into the wall to win!
One Of The Coolest Moments In NASCAR History!
One of the greatest moments in Nascar history
February 1998: there can never be a better moment in sports than this February 2001; there can never be a worse moment in sorts than this July 2001; there can never be a better moment in sports than this.
The greatest moment in nascar history
Hard to believe that this was 23 years ago. Love you junior. Blessings
This was one of the greatest moments in all of sports history!
Jr has gotta be one of my favorite, if not my favorite nascar driver. This win is absolutely spectacular
As emotional as the whole situation is you really get hit in the feels when Steve Byrnes talks to Richard Childress. Can hear it on him, lots of different emotions.
Sr. Was in that car with jr.
If this don’t hit your heart you probably don’t have one.
Jr is his own racer, and is amazing in his own right. 32nd of all time still ain't easy to achieve. Dad would be proud.
Give it to Waltrip, who could've won, but stayed back and protected Jr.
Dale Sr. was riding shotgun with Junior that night
Way better man than his Dad ever was
Gets me every time 😢. Back when there were men worthy of cheering for.
DEI swept Daytona in 2001 wow
I watched this entire race and I believe that Dale Sr. Was with his son and guided him to the victory no doubt about JR.is and was a great driver but not like this the move on the outside as soon as the camera was on the Budweiser #8 it sent chills down my spine i would have sworn it was Dale SR. Driving watched him his entire career and was useto seeing that it was so like him its not funny to this day I swear to it nothing has changed my mind believe it in my heart it was his Father saying good by
Matt Kenneth and Jr together at the end makes me happy and shows how important friends are, always rooting for eachother.
This moment was the silver lining fans were looking for after dale died
I can only imagine how cool it must have been to grow up with Dale as a Dad!!
As an adult who has never liked or watched racing....this is awesome
Also, any cynical person out there that thinks it was "scripted" Bobby Labonte was driving the hell out of that 18 on the highline trying to pass. Jr. did a great job of high/low blocking until Waltrip got up there to take over for him. Idc what anyone says, Labonte was trying to win that race, but we're all glad he didn't.
The ovation when Jr. took the lead is something that will live with me forever. That wasn't just the moment Jr., DEI, & Nascar needed, but also the moment every Nascar fan needed to begin the healing process. I feel like the entire sport was in a fog until that moment. I know in many aspects it's never fully recovered, but without this moment, I don't know that it would've ever bounced back even as much as it did.
Greatest sporting event I've ever seen in my life!
I just can not help myself wondering what DEI would have been if Dale did not die. Would Dale Jr won the championship and more. How many would DEI have won.
One of the most beautiful, emotional and important moments in sport. Period. :)
Still cry to this day.
2024 and this still brings tears to my eyes!!?
If DEI could have continued, dale jr would have had so many more wins, the drama hurt him
I can't begin to tell you how much all nascar fans, drivers and Earnhardt Sr fans needed this
Every time I see Mikey dive to get behind Jr and they take off from the pack, I start crying like its the first time.
Heck yeah. His still his Papa's son❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Junior and Mikey being such buddies makes me tear up every time
What a powerful moment
One of the greatest moments in NASCAR history! I dont know that we will ever see a moment like this again!
Gets me every time. 🥲
Nobody was gonna get past Michael on that final lap
I cried watching this live as a kid. Im sitting here crying watching this again at age 38
These kids these days would have wrecked 3 wide over and over..... what a beautiful race, you dont see magnificent glory like this anymore
Didn’t Dale Earnhardt Senior Have The Fatal Car Crash In The June 2001 Daytona 500?!?
February but yes so this win for Junior and Mikey who won the one race on that fatal day was personal for both of them
where did the time go it only seems like yesterday a kid named kevin harvick filled a huge seat and won after only 3 races and never will there be a more emotional day in nascar again thank you kevin for all the memories
The most emotional win ever in NASCAR!
Neil Bonnett: That's my nephew atta boy!
Shanks and bake
It’s rare to see a grown man cry, but seeing dale jr win after his father passed away, that will make a grown man cry.
